'(Per Press Association.)' Dunedin, last night. Mr J. C. Thomson, president of the Employers’ Federation, has reoeived a wire from the Premier re the proposed labor conference as follows:—"Delegates representing the various branohes submit their own views to the conference. These will be: The general question of the tariff; its bearing upon industries, whether mining, agricultural, or commerce trusts, and their effect upon internal end external trade. Belationsbip existing I between employers and employees: How capital and labor are affected by existing legislation, and if any amendment is necessary in what direction. Development of industries, mining, etc.: How industries con be best formed for which the con- I dltions of the colony are naturally favorable, such as cloth manufacture, and how I is the same affected by the importation of cloth and mixed material ? This is only a a fringe of the large questions which 11 hope the conference will deal with, and 1 I am consulting those at the head of the I organisation so as to have a proper agenda prepared when the conference meets." I Mr Thomson has replied: The I majority vote of the Federation is opposed to the conference at present. The scope is too wide, it is too late for legislation this | session, and the matter is too important to j be dealt with summarily." ,
