HARVESTER TRUST.
I (Per Press Association.) I ( Wellington, last night. . A meeting of members of Parliament ' was held yesterday afternoon for the purpose of hearing representatives of New Zealand implement makers at present in Wellington on the subject of protection from the Ameriaan Harvester Trust. Sir William Russell was voted to the chair. Squib thirty members ware present. These representatives gavo addresses, contending that if the manufacturers oouid get the whole of the home trade instead of only I an uncertain proportion of it, manufactures would be carried on ou an increased I scale, aud as a result of the increased output there would be a reduction in price They suggested an increased tariff. Sir Joseph Ward was asked whether if it was agreed to take aotiou, the Government would give facilities for putting a Bill through this session.
