Auokland, last night. i; ; |f At a meeting of the executive committee ! of (the Auokland Provincial Employers’ > Association, held for the purpose of con* ■} eiderhig the proposal of the Government ■; to oonvene a conference of representatives * from several Trades and Labor Connoils, : and from various Employers.’ Associations* § and Federations of Trades throughout: the colony, it was considered that in view of the near approach of the end of the present session of Parliament, and of the general elections, and having proper regard to tbo : •very great importance and magnitude of, "i the numerous subjects whiohit is proposed : . to discuss, it would be unwise and iheX‘S|!!|j pedienl for such a cooference to be held at the pressnt junoture. Accordingly It was resolved to forward the following telegram to tho Premier : “ Re proposed cooference. this Association considers it unwise to hnrry matters, the subjects for discussion being too important to be dealt with with* out mature and oareful consideration.. N Much preferable that a oonferencs or Royal Commission should deal with the proposed subjeots early in next year.”
