I Dnnedin, last night. I MrW. Gibb, oandidato for Chalmers, addressed tho electors at Fort Chalmers this evening. Ho announced himself an Independent, but would not vote against tho Government on a no-oonfidonoe motion, exoept on the land question, on ' whioh ho held strongly tbat leaseholders were entitled to the freehold. Ho was strongly in favor of proteotiDg looal industries, eleotod executive and Legislative Council. Ho was opposed to Bible reading in sohools. The oandidato reooived a vote uf thanks.
