AN ISLAND DISAPPEARS. By telegraph, Pr-csa Aas’n, Copyright Sydney, Ootobor 8. Island nows slates that a hurricane caused much damage at Seigran and Pagan, Marshall Islands, in July. Seventy-six lives were lost at Juliet Lagoon, 129 at Mille, and six at Arhuo. Mills no loogtr appeors on the chart. Two fathoms of water oovor the part of tho island wbero Captain Smith's Btation stood. Smith’s whole extensive business has been destroyed. His son was washed away, and swam 23 hours before he was able to regain the land.
