EXODUS OF FARMERS
By telegraph, press Aes'n, Copyright Sydney, Sept 27. There is an exodus of farmers from Newcastle to Chili. Over 20 families have already left, and thero are more to follow. One farmer who has boon in tho State for 20 years and has done fairly well, inter viewed, said h» was going simply because he was heartily tired of tho way farmers were treated. They had no consideration from the Government, and only taxes upon taxoß, so they were going to try what agricultural conditions were like in Amerios, where they were informed land concessions were granted liberally. Speak- I ing for himself, be was faced with a serious difficulty. Ha bad six sons, and oould Dot gei thorn on a decent bit of land 1 here on anything like good terms. The I conditions would not give them a ohanoe. I
