CONSUMPTIVES.
(Par Press Association.) Christchnroh, last night.
At a meeting of tho North Canterbury Hospital Board- to-day tho following motion was adopted by seven votes to four : " That upon the Medical Association ereotiog and equipping an up-to date sanatorium for the treatment of consump-
tives and handing the same over free of debt, the North Canterbury Hospital Board bemby agrees to take over and maintain the Baid sanatorium as one of the North Canterbury Hospital diatriot.” The motion was opposed by the minority on tho grounds that a moro comprehensive scheme required that a sanatorium should be erected in some high loca'ity away from the centra of population. It was uncertain whethor tho Board had jurisdiction to take over the management of such an institution. __
