DISABLED STEAMER.

SCOW REPORTS TO EAST CAPE. The following message was received from the East Cape yesterday afternoon, having been despatched at 8.50 p m. “ The scow Haeremai stood in from sea, and reports passing a steamer with her steering gear disabled.” Some apprehension was felt at first that the steamer referred to might be the Moura, whioh was reported as having passed the Cape at 3 30, twenty minutes previously, but as that vessel has twin screws, the report could hardly refer to her. Tho time of the message seems to dispose of any fear in that direction. It is probable that the Moura will sight the steamer referred to, aud that farther information will be obtained to-day. The weather all along the coast is reported to be favorable, so that it might be possible for the steamer to have the gear righted without assistance.
