Wool is. very firm. There is keen ’competition for tho new clip of merinos, and prides are the highest of the series. .

; The wool sales were' continued with unabated spirit. Prices were unchanged. The following were the average prices realised for the fleece portion of the clips named :—Tapanui 13}d, Anaru 17d, Renopai IOJd, Waiourn ll£d, Waikiare 12&d, Brancepeth 13£d, ' . -
Messrs Dalgety and 00., Limited, have. received the following cablegram from their London office Market dull. Bioce our - last telegram prices are lower for New Zealand oroasbred frozen mutton by l-8d per, lb, New Zealand crossbred frozen lamb by. l-6d to Jd per lb, and frozon beef sides by par to l-8d per lb,v' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.,' report on olearing sale held on account of Mr O. Neal at 'WadreDga-a-bika :—" The property, consisting of ' 62J -aeres,was first offered, but, failing to reach the owner’s idea of value, was withdrawn. The , be’st offer obtained at auction was £2B 10s per -acre. The dairy cattle oame forward in rather low condition, as might * have been expected from the severe winter wo have jußt passed through. However, the bidding was fairly brisk, and all likely looking sorts sold atgood prices. Values ranged from £5 to £lo,'the average being £6 13s. A few pigs, implements, etc,; sold at fair values. We sell again on Thursday next at MataWho'ro yards, for which we shall be glad to receive entries.’’
