The market was stimulated by the advanced prices ruling in London. Better classes may be quoted about 5 per oeut. above the rates ruling at the opening sales a fortnight ago.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. have reoeived ■. the following cabled report London a wool sales. Competition animated, .Good j selection. Merino and fine crossbreds • 1 Prioes are on the average par to 5 per cent higher than closing rates of last sales. Coarse- crossbred wools and alipes: Prices are on the average 5 to 8 per bent higher than closing rates of last series. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company received the following cablegram: —“Wool: Market opened strong. Competition is active. As compared with last sales’ closing rates prioes are 10 to 16 per cent higher for coarse orossbred, greasy medium merino, coarse greasy orossbred, and greasy crossbred. About 5 per cent higher for fine crossbred, medium crossbred and merino, lambs’, and greasy merino lambß’ super.’’
