FRASERTOWN NOTES.

A special committee meeting of the Woiroa Agricultural and Pastoral Society was held in Parker’s hall, at 2.30 on Saturday. 9th inst. There was a largo and representative gathering from all parts of the county. Mr Jefferson, President of the Association presided. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed. The following special prizes wore, recorded : Mr G. Walker, ono guinea for best draught mare on ground, [also prize for best draught mare three years old and under (dry); Mr G. Heslop, one guinoa for best walking horse ; Mr J. Powdrell, two guineas to be allotted by committee ; Mr B. Lambert, two guineas for best pen of five crossbred wethers suitable for freezing, other than Downs; Mr H. L. Donolly, one guinea for best hack capable of carrying. 15 stone, also one guinea for best walking horse ; Mr F. Parker, one guinea allotted by committee ; Mr J. Dovey, one guinea to be allotted by committee; Mr Norman McKinnon trophy value two guineas for best ewe on ground; Mr A. E. Beokett.five guineas to be allotted by committee ; Mr B. Lambert, one guinea for best Shorthorn cow or heifer; Mr Jefferson, five guineas for best cob under 15 hands to carry stone ; Mr M. P. Chapman, one guinea to be allotted by committee ; Mr J. Hunter-Brown, two guineas for the beat Shorthorn dairy cow; Mr F. Mcßae, two guineas ; committee to allow Mr C. P. Branden 10s; committee to allow Mr D. Walker 10s for best hack. It was decided to hold the show on Wednesday, 17th January, 1906 ; the parade of horses and vehicles to take place at 3 p.m. It was resolved that certificates of merit .be given with the Ist, 2nd and 3rd prizes in all classes. The following privileges were appointed : Light horße classes, Mr, Mackersey (Hawke’s Bay) ; emergency, MrDe Peleche.t; draught horses and Potts.; emergency, Mr Heed; sheep classes, Mr Me Lardy, emergency, Mr Gh Elliott (Hastings) ; dogs, Mr Munro, miscellaneous produce, Messrs Fletcher and Stevens; butter, Mr Shirley, dairy expert ; scones, cakes, etc., Mesdames Hayden and Beckett; Maori exhibits, Mr Ihaka Whanga. The question of erecting permanent cattle pens having been discussed, it was decided to appoint a committee consisting of MessrsjMcßae, Heslop and Chapman to go thoroughly into the matter and report at next meeting, also to act as ground committee. The following stewards were appointed : Light horse classes. Messrs Taylor, Evans, Fenwich, Powdrell; draught horses, Messrs Hague and | Neale; sheep classes, Messrs Mayo, | Heslop and Lambert; cattle, M essrs Steed, Neale and Taylor ; miscellaneous, Y. and F. Eamlose. The following working committee was appointed : Messrs Heslop, Chapman. Munro, Powdrell, Sinclair and Twigg. The President, vice-president, treasurer and Mr Heslop were appointed a committee to allot prize money. The secretary and treasurer were authorised to sign cheques. The secretary was authorised to ascertain on what terms the Wairoa brass band would play for the day. It was decided to send notice of the date fixed for the show to the Weekly News and Gisborne Times for insertion in their list of fixtures. Some accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting closed.
