An official communique, os the result of the conference held at Karlstad on Saturday, indicated that an agreement would be reached shortly. 1 This is reported to be due to the indirect intervention of King Edward, suggesting through Dr Nansen, who is visiting London, and the Swedish Minister in England, that tho fortresses be disarmed and present armaments be not inoreased, and that Prince Oharleß of Denmark be eleoted to the throne.
