SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the School Committee was hold last evening, when there were present Messrs Graham (chairman), Somervell, Colley, Church, File, and Fyson. The Education Board forwarded the voting paper in connection with the extraordinary vacancy on the Board, A complaint was received from a parent that a pupil had received excessive corporal punishment, After an exhaustive enquiry, in which'the parent, head-master, and teacher concerned gave evidenoe, the matter was considered in* committee, and the complaint dismissed. Mr 0. A. Neale was eleoted to the vacancy on the committee. The question of quarter money came up. It was decided to have a report for next mooting. Messrs Fyson, File, and the chairman were appointed visiting committee. The hoad-master’s report showed the attendance for the past month averaged 89.7. Tho final examination of the year in the primary department would be comuseooed on Monday,
