WHERE 18 THE JOHN GRAFTON 1 By, telegraph. Press Ass’n, Copyright Beoeived 9.51 p.m.. Sept. 14. London, Sept 14. The steamer John Grafton nailed in July. The present owner refuses information as to tho vessel’s whereabouts.
Tbe John Grafton is supposed to be the vessel that was blown np. Two Customs offioers boarding a steamer in the Gnlf of Bothnia were compelled by an armed English-speaking crew of 20 to withdraw. An explosion followed after the crew’s departure. The name "John” and letters "fton” still unpainted out suggest that the steamer is the John Grafton. Lloyds’ information from Jakmbstad states that after exploding and totally wrecking the steamer the crew sailed south. Three thousand two hundred rifles were landed.

The authorities at .Jakobstad seized 5000 rifles among the inhabitants o! the district. The orew of the nameless steamer landing southwards disappeared inland.
