(Pen Press ’Association.) Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.30. The Marriages Validation Bill passed the final stages by 17 to 9. ' " The Shipping and Seamen’s Bill was read a third time and passed. The House met at 2.30. A number of petitions were presented asking for a full public enquiry into the voucher case. The Shops and Offices Bill was recommitted.

SHOPS AND OFFICES BILD. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The House resumed at 7.80. The Shops and Offioes Bill was further considered in committee. Clause 3 was lengthily djscussed, and was eventually amended to provide for the non-employ-ment of assistants after 6 p.m. bn week days and 11 p.m. on Batnrdays in the four cities, leaving the hours for the nonemployment of assistants in all other, districts to be fixed under section 21 of the original Act by requisition by a three-fifths majority.
