GISBORNE LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Gisborne Lawn Tennis Club was held ia the rooms over Dalrymple’s on Saturday evening, Mr W. J. Hawley, Vice-P esidont, presiding. There was a largo attendance. The annual report and balance sheet, which, was presented by Mr T. Alston Coleman, hon. secretary, was of a most satisfactory nature, a credit balance of over £l6 being shown. Reference was made to the increased membership, and tho success which bad attended the tournament games.
Tho election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr A. W. Bees; vicepresidents, Messrs W. J. Hawley, H. G. Watson, and J, B. Bioadhurst; hon. secretary, Mr B. Blackburn ; treasurer, Mr W. J. Hawley ; committee, Messrs A. F. Coleman, W. MoCredie, Cowan, B. Willock and Ruby; auditor, Mr T. Alston Coleman; delegates to Hawkes’ Bay Association, Messrs H. N. Watson and 0. L. Margohonlt. A number of new members were elected, including the following: Misses Black (3), Messrs F. B. Palairel, G. Willoek, A. Walker, A. K. Hawley and F. Rutledge. It was decided, weather permitting, to opon the season on the Saturday following the Agricultural Show, October 28. It was resolved that the inooming committee be recommended to take the necessary steps to improve tho Club’s grounds, either by alteration to the present buildings or by tho erection of a new pavilion. It is anticipated that a marked change will toko plaoe in this repect. The meeting terminated with the usual vote of tbaDks.
