Tho New Zealand footballers have arrived at Plymouth. They met with a hearty re.oeption at tho bauds of the Engligh Rugby Union officials. The team appears to be in good oondition. The Spectator, commenting on the proposal for tho modification of the immigration laws, considers the qualification inevitable owing to the nature of the Australian laws, but that it would not detract from their value by a change. The Coroner’s jury were unable to discover the cause of the accident to the Great Eastern express. The Witbam railway men were adjudged blameless. The signalman, Frederick Parish, stopped tbe up express already approaching at the moment of the accident.

Mr Stead’s colt Nootuiform was aooorded a.great ovation on Saturday after winning the Derby.
