THE WAIAPU ELECTION.
'(To the Editor .Gisborne Times, Sir, —" Elector,” writing in yonr contemporary, appears vory much concerned in regard to the presence of Mr Wall in tbo field as a candidate for the above election. Surely, Mr Wall has a right to stand without being requisitioned, and if ho can seonre the prohibition vote, which is in the opinion of some, a very doubtful quantity, more power to him. The prohibitionists must find a candidate from somewhere, and of the three gentlemen offering themselves for election, no doubt Mr Wall finds most favor with the cold water advocates. As to Mr Wall not having served his apprenticeship an somo one of our local is p point in his favor, and one which is iikelj ib' get him not a few votes. Let "Elector” be patient; all in good time he will hear the candidate he now despises, and when the numbers go np fie ppuat not be surprised to Bee tljaijboth Mfessijs Olay-, and Carroll fiaye gonq to (he " wall.”—l am, eta, ' NEW ZEALANDER.
