Wanganui, last night.

The football match Auckland v. Wanganui, played to-day, resulted in a victory for Wanganui by four points (a goal from a maik) to nil, after a hard-fought and even game. Wanganui attacked for.tho major part of the first spell, in which Craig kicked a goal from a mark, In the second spell Auckland showed slightly better play. Near the close of the gams Kiernan had a penalty kick in front of Wanganui's goal, but failed to convert, the game ending, amidst tremendotu excitement, without further score. . £

A COLLEGE MATCH.

{Per Press Association.}’ - 1 Christohurch, last night. The annual football match Wanganui Collegiate Sohool and Wellington College, played this afternoon, resulted in a win for Wanganui by six points (tries scored by E. Dive and Beckett) to nil. Playing with a strong breeze in the firßt spell, Wanganui did not show their best form, and 'at hell time no score was reoorded. Ip the next spell Wanganui played a much brisker game, their forwards in partioular making it too strong for Wellington.
