Auokland, last night.

The late accountant of the Auckland Racing Club, P. A. Dawson, arrested at Fiji on a warrant okarging him with stealing £soo.the moneys of the club, appeared before the Stipendiary Magistrate to-day. The Crown Solicitor mentioned that the amount ■> involved in the alleged defalcations was £2OOO, and applied for a week’s remand, which was granted. Bail of two sureties of £SOO and accused for a similar amount was allowed.
