SALE r ATi MATAWHERQ YARDS.

Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company hold their fortnightly sale of stock at the Matawhero Yards Yesterday. There was a large attendance and good competition. The prices were as follows Sheep : About 750 were yarded, principally fat ebeep. Thirty-seven wethers 18s 3d, 15 ditto 18s, 54 2,4, 6 and 8tooth ewes in lamb (in poor condition) 15s Id, 49 2,4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes in lamb 16s 9d, 55 fat wethers (heavy weights) 21s 6d, 31 fat wethers 19s 4d, 14 do. 21s, 34 forward wethers 19s 9d, 33 do. 16s, 65 ewes (empty) 13s 6d, 97 ewes (with 100 per cent, of lambs at foot) 20s Bd. Cattle : Over 200 were yarded. Twenty, springiog heifers £5 5s to £8 15s, Jersey cow £7 15s, beef bullocks £7 10s, beef cows £4 178 6d, barren heifers £5 10s, 3-year-old store bullocks £5, cows £4, beef bullocks (heavy weights) £6, springing beifer £4 2s 6d, Bpringing cows £5 2s 6d, prime beef bullooks £6, one springor £6 12s 6d, one cow in calf £5, cow and calf £2 15s. Pigs : Three big Berkshire sows brought £2 sb, 2 smaller ones £2, 3 Tumworth sows (in pigs) 10s, 3 porkers 15s, 7 weaners 2s 6d, 2 porkers 15s, 4 dn. (small) 10s, 7 weaners 3s 6d, 1 big sow £2 10s, 2 porkers 13s 6d, 4 smaller ones 7s, 3 young pigs 4s 6d, 7 pigs 12s, 6 porkers 10s.

Messrs CommoD, Sbeltln and Dalgety and Co. held their usual fortnightly slock sale at Matawhero yesterday afternoon. There was a yarding of about 500 sheep. There was brisk competition and a better demand for all classes. Store sheep showed a rise of Is on the previous sale. The following wore the pricos Sheep : Store wethers 18s 3d, 66 fat ewes 21s, 60 do. 18s 3d, 70 do. 18s, 70 forward ewes 17s 9d, 65 do. 16s 6d.

Cattle : Dairy cows sold at from £6 to £9 58,18-months steers £3 13s, forward store bullocks wore passed at £6.
