(Pec Press Association.) Wellington, last night. After the telegraph office closed this morning, the Shops and Offices Bill was further considered in committee. At clause 4an amendment by Mr Maßaey. that the majority of shopkeepers required to limit the hours of closing should be three-fifths, was oarried by 38 to 28. Progress was then reported, and the House rose at 1.20 a.m. AFTERNOON SITTING 1 . The Council met at 2.30. The Mutual Fire Insurance Bill and the Motor Registration Bill passed through committee. The House met at 2.30. Mr Beddon gave notice to introduce the Referendum Bill. (Mr Seddon statod that he hoped to make a start with the Lands Commission debate next week. The greater part of the afternoon was occupied discussing Minis'erial replies to questions. EVENING SITTING. The House resumed at 7-30. The Marriage Restrictions Removal Jam and Statutes Compilation Bill passed the final stageß. , Several hours’ debate took plaoe on the motion for the second reading of Mr liffi® Rating on Unimproved Value Aot Amendment Bill.
