There was only a moderate attendance of the publio. Arnold was omitted from the oonnty, and Darling, Kelly, and Gregory from the l Australians. Noble won the toss, and elected to bat, sending in Trumper and Duff. The latter skied one when the total was 26, and Hill was taken at mid-on when 87 was on the board. Trumper run up his half-century in 1 hour 80 minutes. He batted for 165 minutes, and hit 14 - fourers. Three wickets for 181. The fourth wicket fell at 201.
