AFTERNOON SITTING-

'(Fee Press Association.> Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.80. ,

The Egmont National Park Bill and Jubilee Institute for the Blind Bill passed the final stages. The Mutual Fire Insurance Bill, Motion Registration Bill, Public Works Amendment Bill were all read a second time. * The House mot at 2.30.

The Teachers Superannuation Bill was referred to the Education Committee.

The Shipping and Seamen’s Bill passed through Committee. The Coel Miners’ Act Amendment Bill was read a seoond time pro forma. Mr Seddcn announced that a start would bo made with the Financial Debate on Tuesday evening. The seoond reading of tho Fire Brigades Bill was carried by 37 to 18.

EVENING SITTING.

THIRD PARTY MAKE AN ATTACK

The Houso resumed at 7.30. A debate lasting the whole evening took place on the Imprest Supply Bill. A strong attack was made on the Government by Messrs Fishor, Bedford, LaurensoD, and Taylor for what was characterised as “ miouso of tho Telegraph Department ” by Ministers and . their families by what is known as tho “ memc system.”
