FOOTBALLEES COME TO GRIEF, sPer Peess 'Association. J -# ■- Timaru, last night.

An accident of a rather startling nature? occurred at 1 o’clock this morning a(f Otaio bridge, when a football team belonging to Timaru was returning from Waimate.

The night was very dark, and heavy rain was iailing. The coach capsized over an embankment by the river. Two men were badly cut about the neck and face ; another bad a piece cut out of his ear ; another, who was pinned under the aoach, had the weight of the vehicle on his neck, and sustained severe bruises: while another was so injured that he was unable to walk, and had to be carried by his companions to the nearest township, which was miles distant. Nineteen persons were in the coach altogether, and all received a severe shaking, the coach rolling over twice.
