A LITTLE REBUFF.

THE PREMIER TALKS PLAINLY. . (Per Press Association.) , Wellington, last night. A year ago the sum of £I3OO was voted for a new hospital building at Blenheim, and a deputation interviewed Mr Seddon this afternoon with plans for a structure that will cost over £SOOO, and a request for a corresponding amount. Mr Seddon blamed the Hospital Board for not commencing work with tho money already voted. If they found tho amount was insufficient for their requirements, then they could have appealed with more grace m making the application for an increased subsidy. “ The sooner you go back and tell them the better,” he said. “If you think you ore going to get £SOOO 1 may tell you at once that you won’t.”

He went on to say that he was prepared to recommend another £I2OO if they promised to golhomß and commence tbe work of building.
