Foreshaw got a,chance and passed to Kisscll, who scored an easy goal. Very fast : play followed, both sides straining hard to gain a victory. Time was called with the scores level, a goal eaob. Asher, Mawson, and Foreshaw played brilliantly for the visitors.

THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. A DRAWN GAME.

iVcr Psesa Association.! Dunedin, last night. - The match New Zealand v. Otago and Southland, played on the Caledonian Ground, ended in a draw,.lo points each. The day was beautifully fino. The attendance wa3 about 10,000. The visitors wets’ on the whole fortunate in getting off with a draw, for they had the worst of the play in the open ttod in the sorums, their fine kicking being a department in which they showed to better advantage than their opponents. They were quick, even brilliant, in taking advantage of the mistakes of the local team, and as two or three ot. t) " these were serious, tha result was a draw,o@|S where defeat seemed, probable. It : was" TP thought the representative team .wore reeerying themselves for the second spell, ' but as time went on it became evident they oould not get the upper hand. With the exception of some mistakes by Hobson the Otago and Southland backs, led by Stead, played a great game, and Purdue (2) and Porteons were prominent in tha fine pack. McGregor was the best of tho representatives’ backs, but Gillett’s fine ’ kicking not only saved his side, but gamed lumps ofr ground. The end was very exciting. A mistake by Given let New Zealand right up to and under the goal posts, but they were unable to score, and were gradually forced back. Tries for New Zealand'were scored by McGregor and Wallace.

The local forwards, how ever, played a flue game, but received poor support from their backs. Parkor Turei, Wepiha, and Walker were playin'* a great game for To Aute, taking the batl ! splendidly on the line-out, and passiog !?
