HARD CASE.

(To the Editor Gisborne Times.)

Sir, —I noticed that the Counoil would not accede to the request of Mr Johann Pearston, and thnt one councillor said, »We must not make fish of one and flesh of the other.” Well, all I hope is that they stick to what they say, and start from the town end, and olear everything ofl the road, including the freezing works and o

_jher such obstructions, so os to give us the road to travel on that we are entitled to. We are in a British colony, and what is fair for the rich is fair for the poor. It would be easier for the Council in making the road to dodge the fisherman's home than it would be to dodge the freezing works.—l ana, etc., FAIR PLAY.
