DECLARES HIMSELF KING OF IRELAND. .

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. An alarming incident oocurred in Shortland street, outside tiro post office, when a Inuatic threatened Mr Thomas Craig with a revolver. Mr Craig was stopped in the etreot by a man who demanded £SO from him, and assorted that Messrs J. J. Craig and Co. owed him ,£32,000, and that if he did not get the money he had a revolver in his pocket which he would use. Constable Sims came to Mr Craig’s resoue, and managed to persuade the lunatic ta• give up a sir-chambored revolver he had in his pocket. The constable had no doubt' as to tho insacity cf the man, when hastated that ho was ” Sains Patrick, Kingof Ireland.” The man was subsequentlycommitted to Avondale asylum by the Magistrate.
