The water was quite a foot doop iu placeH, and wbilo the rain lasted it rushed down tho street with great foros, spreading over the footpaths and flooding a huge number of oollars Tho wholo of tho Queen street wharf was also flooded, and tho wator pourod over tho sides. Liberty men going off to H.M.S. Challenger had to wade through Ilia water with their boots slung over thoir shoulders. Tho damage was ootnparaTvely small, as the rain did not las t long.
HOSPITAL BOARD ELECTIONS. Mr Btcomfield, chairman of the Epsom Road Board, referred to tho statement made by the Hon.
