A NARROW ESCAPE.
• TWO OARS COLLIDE. <Por Psoas AssonSattacfctJE , Dunedin, last night. There was a narrow escape from a disastrous accident this afternoon .where the Kaikorai cable tramway crosses tha Boslyn Company’s electric line. As the cable oar was proceeding up the hill, and had got a few feet on the other line, the electric car struek the front of the cable car, partly turning it round, the gripper acting as a pivot. The cable car was considerably damaged, but the oleotrio car was not much injured. , - . There were 29 passengers on the, osble car, who esoaped with a . fright, and a
shaking. The electric car bumper struck the front oompartment of the other car. . Had the cable car been another three feet on the line, the electric car would have ornshed four passengers who were seated on the side seat facing the approaching oar. The managers of the two companies meet to-morrow to devise means to prevent; a recurrence of suoh a collision.
