The New Zealand Herald’s Wellington correspondent telegraphs :—The provincial councils of the Farmers’ Union of Poverty Bay, Taranaki, Auckland, and Wellington have sent tho following motion forward for consideration at the colonial conference of delegatss :—“ That tho union os a whole shall take a strong political attitude, and strcnuouEly oppose those candidates at the general election who are opposed to its platform, and support those candidates who will endorse it irrespective of purlins.” The Auckland delegates will move, " That the conference discuss a scheme for better organisation for electoral purpose*, and instruct each branoh and centre in the means 0 f working the aobemo." Tho Poverty Bay- delegates are instructed to go st ll further, and will move, “ That provincial executives be empowered to submit the nam e 6 of candidates for Parliament at the general election, and that voting-papers with the names of such candidates be sent to all branches, which shall bold an elec tion by ballot, and through the pOBt office where memborß are unable to attend the meetings, the result to be forwarded to the provincial executives, which shall? declare the Candida* 6 favored by a majority of the members to be the one who shall receive the united support of the union throughout tbs electoral distriot.”
