' ] Oamaru. Saturday. I Thos. Reid, juo., well koown in farming circles in Nortn Otago, was killed by being thrown fremhis trup betweon Ngapara and I his home at Kokoamo last night. There are no further particular. Deceased was 85 years of age, and unmarried. Christchurch, Saturday. An old man na ned Charles Bird, who wai taken to the Hospital on June 18th, suffering from injuries to his hip and groin, caused as ho stated by collision a coach on the day before, died from the injuries last night. An inquest was opened this afternoon, and adjourned _to procure evidence.
Napier, last night. Tho body of Danial McAlUter, who has been misßiog from tho port since Wednesday !a-t, was found in the Iron Pot this morning about ten o’clock. The body was folly clothed, aud there wore no marks of violence about it. It is assumed, that, as the’ body was found near the spot where tho trawler Pilot", on which was working, wa« herthed on Wednesday night, that deceased in going on board the vessel to sleep must hove slipped and fallen overboard.
Christchurch, last night. Mrs Alice H. Haydon, wife of a post office official, was found dead in bed early this morning. She had been suffering from Weakness of the heart.
