RECENT FLOODS
(Pen Press Association.) Westport, last night.
More definite information concerning the damage done to dredging goes to Bhow that the Buller Junction dredge is stranded on a beach near Oronwell’s paddock. She appears to have sustained little damage so far as ie at present known, but will require a good flood to place her again in the river, or will have to be re-launched. The Welcome is sunk in a fairly good position,' but the extent of the damage is not yet available. The Fernflat dredge appears to bo hopelessly smashed. The Premier, Mokoia, Feddersons, Rocklands and Old Diggings are understood to be intact. The road is badly cut away in places, particularly neat Berlin's, and oven on foot is passable only with much difficulty. Tele'phone communication with Karamea is still interrupted.
