General Maksimovitoh ordered an inquiry. - It is somi-offioially announced at St. Petersburg that Government upholds the necessity for the establishment of consultative representative Assembly. Several newspapers, however, had erroneously drawn from the Czar’s speeoh far reaching oonolnsions, suggesting complete reorganisation of the constitution.

Twenty thousand Jews have quitted Lodz. Yesterday the barricades erected at Warsaw were stormed. There wore many casualties and 200 arrests. Twolve hundred were killed and 3000 wounded in the ten days’ fighting. The Caucasus garrison at Taurida sent reinforcements.
