Carl Moyer, in a letter to the press, states that he was never connected with tho first Cold Storage Company. He joined the second, or Imperial Cold Storage Company at the late Mr Rhodes’ request, as representative of De Beers. He had not a shilling personal interest in Bergyl's contract, and was unacquainted with L. J. Meyer, who was the Imperial Cold Storage Company's temporary manager in South Africa for 24 months during 1901.
