A FIRE

(Per* Press 'Association:.) Christchurch, last night.

A fire on the premises of Turnbull aud Jones, electrical engineers, Cashel street, at 7 o’clock this morning, did damago to the extent of £SOO. Tho premises and stock wero insured for £12,000, the offices interested being tho Royal Exchange, Norwich Union, Imperial, South British and New Zealand. Tho brigades worked with difficulty, to the pmell of burning rubber, but subdued the fire before it did' damage serious onoughfc to interfere with the working of tho establishment. ;
