DEATH FROM TETANUS.
[(Her. Press Association.) Invercargill, last night,
William Cooper, a young man employed in the Corporation gardens, died to-day from tetßnus, as the result of a minor injury. Ho was marking for a squad at the Grasmere raDge on the 6th inst., and was standing in his shelter when a bullet depleted from the mound, struck his fingers, and mutilated two. The wound was not looked upon as being serious, but lockjaw supervened, and he was removed to the hospital, where.he died. He was a native of the district," and a son of very early settlors.
