(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. The Otago A. and P, Society’s winter show was openod to-day by the Hon. -L. Duncan. Tbo show is in every respect a success. The entries are large, and the competition in most cases is very keen. The takings amounted to £lB9 6s Od, an increase on the first day of last year of
£77. The principal prizes in butter and cheese faotory made, were awarded as follows: Cheese: Best scsvt full-cream, Cheddar colored, Waikouaiti factory, 954, first ; do., 95 second; Edendale, 934, third. Bast scwt white : Gore dairy faotory, 95-4, fi r3t ,v do., 944. second ; Edendale, 934, third.
Two heist cheeses suitable for export : Gore 1, Waikouaiti 2, Gore 3. Best scwt sent direct from factory to show : Edendale 944 and 94, Wyndham 904- Best ease loaf: Gore 944, Waikouaiti 93, Edendale 92w. Gore and Waikouaiti tied for .special for OhishMt award. Factory buttor,. three itoxes: Canterbury Central 93, Taien and /Peninsula Co. 924, South Canterbury 92, Taieri and Peninsula, Oatnaru 91£, Cardiff Co. (Stratford) 904- Two boxos confined to North Island: Cheltenham Co 94, Cardiff Co. 924, Maketawa 91, Stratford 904. Mot Co. 884. Competition for grading points : Tai Tabu 93.16, South Canterbury 92.80, North Otago 92.13, Can torburv Central 92.51, Belfast 92.07, Taiora and Peninsula 91.19, Weymouth 91, Sefton 90.74.
