Mr A. L. D. Fraser, M.H.R., delivered a presessional address at Taradale this evening, when he gavo a resume of tho work of the session. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
Wellington, last night. Father Hays addressed a crowded meeting at the Town Hall to-night. Many people were unable to gain admission. The Mayor presided, aud Sir Joseph Ward was amongst those on tho platform. Father Hays was welcomed by Dr. Gibb, on behalf of the Evangelical Churches; by Balcombe Brown, on behalf of the Anglican Churches ; and F. W. Isitt, Tomperance Societies. The meeting was a record one in point of attendance for this city. Blenheim, last night. There were eleven 'applications from various parts of the colony for the position of matron of Wairau Hospital, rendered vacant by resignation of Miss Wigatt to take charge of the Wellington Maternity Home. Miss M. Fulton, formerly of Blenheim,and now nurse at Palmerston North, was appointed.
