OLD TERMS NOT OFFERING. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright London, June 1. The Times’ New York correspondent stateß that the Russian Minister at Washington has intimated to President Roosevelt that Russia might now accept the terms the Japanese oSered aftßt one o£ the recent land victories. President Roosevelt replied that any negotiations on the old terms would be idle. Evidently the question of indemnity blocks the way, Russia preferring to spend the money on her own navy. General Linevitch recently telegraphed : “ All our hopes rest with the Baltic fleet.” He has now informed the Czar that the army is greatly disheartened at the naval defeat. The Japanese troops receivedthe news with quiet satisfaction. It is officially announced at St. Petersburg that the cruiser Oleg and destroyers Gnozni, Bravy and Raziashy have arrived at Vladivostok. The reported arrival of the hospital ship Orel at Vladivostok is not confirmed.
