HOTEL LICENSE.

AN UNENVIABLE POSITION,

Christchurch, last night. An'aoplication for the renewal of a hotel license in this city was adjourned by the Licensing Committee at tho annual meeting to day, the chairman stating that if continuance was carried at the next local option poll the premises would have to be rebuilt, and if reduction was carried the committee would have to consider whether the house in question was in such a con. dition as to entitle it to remain. He added that the policy of the committee had resulted in Christchurch being placed in tho front rank in the colony as regards hotel accommodation.
