(For* Press Association.) Dnnnevirko, last night.

The Arbitration Court was engaged today hearing the case of Thomas Murray, who sued William Rathbone, of Waipaioa, for the sum of £l5O for the permanent injury to his thumb, received whilst repairing a fence. Medical evidence showed that the thumb was permanently disabled. The case for the complainant was that he was engaged chopping a tree with an axe, when he jarred his hand. Inflammation of the bone supervened and the joint of the thumb was removed. Defendant did not deny his liability, bat urged that the amount olaimed was exoessive. Judgment was reserved.
