WAIROA NOTES.
(Guardian.) The Mohaka cargo, which has been in the Tu Ata Bince Easter, was discharged into the North Clyde shed yesterday, awaiting a fresh in the Mohaka river, which is very low at present.
Messrs McKain and Hutchinson will be unable to float timber down the Mohaka river until there is heavy rain. The timber is reported to be excellent for building purposes.
Mr T. Adair (of Adair Bros,), kindly entertained the patients in the hospital with his gramaphone on Wednesday afternoon. A large number of visitors were also present, and both patients and visitors were highly delighted with the various selections.
A large party of natives in waggons, bug gies, and on horseback arrived last Wednesday evening from the southern part of Hawke’s Bay to take part in a tangi at Buataniwha. Singular to relate, one of the natives, to whom we applied for information, was unablo to give the name . of the decoased {qi whom they had coma to weep 1
