!(Fer Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. At Addington yards to day there was a . . airly large entry of all classes of stock, and despite the wet weather there was u good attendance. Stores sold .at improved rates, there being a demand, for ewes and hoggets. Pat lambs were very firm, and there was a little reoovery in the price of ■_ beef. Pat pigs sold fairly well, especially lightweight baoonors, but there was a very poor demand for stores. Store sheep and lambs—A fair number for the advanced period of the season was yardod. There was a good demand and '*'■ all classes improved in prioe. Wotbors brought from 13s 8d for culls to 19s 3d for good wethers'from Marlborough. Ewes consisted of small lots. Lambs brought! from 9s to 12s for baekward.and 13s to 15s for good to forward. ■ , .. I< at lambs—The entry was an unusually large one for the timo of tho year, and tho bulb wero of prime quality. There was a %■ good demand for export, and prices wero fully 6d per head better than the previous Freezing lambs up to 421 b sold afi 16s 6d to 19s, and togs from 18s 6d to 21s. Fat sheep—There was a good yarding, but prices were about equal to those ruling last week. Prime wethers 22s to 24g 10d others 19s to 21s 6d, good ewes 18s to 19s* medium 16s to 17s 6d, and aged 14s to 16s merino wethers medium 13s 9d to 16s 3d. Fat oattle—The entry totalled 166, and was coiefly of good to prims quality. -there was more animation in the competition than for some weeks past, and prices sbow an improvement. Baconers, especially light-weights, sold - well, while porkors and heavy-woigbt " baconers made 55s to 655, equal to 4d pec wei H bts 38s t 0 40s. equal to 4f dto 4Jd per lb ; porkers 27s 6d to 35s equal to 41d_to 43d. A lino of prime’ heavy weight Berkshire baconers from Mr " J. Bysart, Kirwee, made 63s to 655. There s. ' was a very dull sale for all olasses of stores, small sorts being very difficult to dispose of at any price. Large stores sold at 18s \ to 255, medium 12s to 16s, slips 7s 6d to v. 11s 6d, weaners 2s 6d to 6s.
