Christchurch, last night. Amongst the matters to be discussed at the North Cantarbury Farmers' Union, to be held hero next week, are the resolutions arrived at by the Trades and Labor Conference, and also a number of remits from the various branches, including several on the subject of anthrax. Others deal with the definition of sound-mouthed sheep ; Government leases to forbid sale of goodwill; lease in perpetuity to be abolished, and no lease to be given by the Crown for a longer period than 21 years; the reduction of the sheep rate by one- I half; and the protection of the public I from motor cars. The Ellesmere branch I wants the leader of the Opposition to be I granted a salary equal to that granted to { members of the Cabinet. (
