'(Per, Press 'Association,) Christchurch, last night. The Christchurch Tramway Board today took over the lines from the old company. The horse cars have all been dispensed with, and steam motors only are being used till the electric care are ready. A boy, whose kidnapping by one family from another was a feature of a ease heard in the Magistrate’s Court last week, has been re-captured by his original custodians. Farther litigation is likely to ensuß from this incident. In the Supreme Court Thomas Lawrence, who pleaded guilty yesterday to procuring one Sutcliffe to use instruments for proouring a miscarriage, was senteneed to four years’ imprisonment. Herbert AHandale, Frederick Dennett, and John Hayes were charged with breaking and entering Amberley railway station on April 9 and stealing cash, stamps and postal notes valuod at .£2OO. Hayoa pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. The trial of Dennett and AHandalo is proceeding,and is expected to last till to morrow evening.
