EXCURSIONS TO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS.

The Union S.S. Company, managing agents for the Canadian-Australian Line announce that the Miowora via Sydney 12th June, Manuka 10th July, and Aorangi 7th August will run excursions to the summer resorts of Glacier, Field, and Banff in the Bocky Mountains this seasoD. In order to place before tourists something definite in the nature of the cost of the trip, tho first olass steamer and rail fares and the hotel expenses during the 15 days’ stay in Canada are included in the round faro’ of £65 from Gisborne. Passengers have the option of staying over for a later trip should they desire to do so, but of course they have to pay the additional hotel expenses. These trips afford an excellent opportunity for anyone anxious to have a three months’ holiday and oompleto chaDge. Swiss guides are brought every year from Switzerland for the benefit of those who deßire to go in for mountaineering in the Koikies. For sportsmen there is considerable attraction. The rivers teem with salmon, and there is abundance of game, both large and small. The Canadian-Pacific hotels at Glacier, Field, and Banff are now world famed for the accommodation they afford. The latter is the greatest summer resort in Amerioa. In addition to the great National Park of Canada being situated close to the hotel, there are hot springs and baths. The hotel itself is perched high up on a spur in the mountains, and the view from it is magnificent. It is. here that the only known remaining herd of the buffalo of America can bo seen, Through passengers for. Europe have the privilege of breaking their journey at any point en route, and so can include a stay at the mountain resorts in their tour, but as there are many who cannot afford the time to go through, these trips have been speoially arranged so as to strike the simmer time in Canada and give an opportunity for a short stay iu the mountains at the most favorable time of the year.
