EMPLOYEES’ GRIEVANCE
(Per Press Association.) : - 'Dunodin, last night.i Messrs A. H. and L. Burt, Ltd., in reply to Mead Workers’ Union and case of the men dismissed from their employ, whioh dismissal the Union allege was due to activity of the men in the interests of the Union, have made a rejoinder that their letter was addressed to the Premier to ascertain whether-.the deputation from the Trades and Labor Conference laid the whole facts before the Premier, or only an exparte statement. The ease was brought before the Arbitration Court by the Union and it was adjourned on its account. If it is not intended to'goi on with it the firm is forced to the conclusion that the Union now admits the woakness of their position. Burts accept admissions by the secretary as to the wilful disobedience of the men in question in defiance of their foreman’s instructions, and their total disregard of the rules of the shop, and they are sending a copy of the Union’s reply to the Premier, With a request that be will advise whether jhe admissions of the men through the secretary Were placed before him by the Reputation.
