CANCER CURE.

A despatch from New York of April 18 says that important experiments now under way there indioatd t* lo discovery of an almost certain ouro tot’ cancer. Ihe method is the application of radium perfected by Hugo Leiber, chemist, of thm city, The remedy was tried on Mra Sarah Oliver, of New Canaan, Conn., agod 82, who had cancer on the instep of the left foot. Any attempt to nse,the knife would have moant death. Two weeks ago the patient reooived the first treatment, and six day 3 later the great cancer, that liter, ally menaced her life, dropped off, showing healthy flesh nndorneath.. To-day all that remained of tho cancer was a soar. The treatment will bo continued throngh the week, and exports are practioally-unani-mous in opinion that in comparatively a few days tho woman will bo completely cured. Liobor’s radium solution is not encased in glass, as in the other methods of using this substance, but is plaoed in direct conlaot with tho diseased tissue. The solution for practical use is smeared on a stick of celluloid resembling a Btnall stick of candy. The application of suoh a tube will remove warts and moles as if by magic.' They simply crumble away, leaving the skin underneath sound and unblemished, Tho next experiment will bo on cancer of the throat, and therapeutists at Klowor Hospital are confident of the result. Experiments will soon begin in applying fcho remedy to consumption.
